Buzzword: Hypertasking

The Sunday Age

Sunday October 8, 2006

David Astle

The simultaneous handling of chores, messages, media streams, sudoku puzzles and conversations than no brain could count, or grasp. Tagged as multi-tasking on speed, this super-overload is a symptom of our wifi era, where mobiles and Blackberries are juggled between podcasts to tackle office memos, day-care fees, internal audits and Tuesday catch-ups before the tram pulls in. Brainless TV never felt so good at the end of a hypertasking day, though several shows will be watched in overlap. -- David Astle
